Aircraftman Second Class Arthur Geoffrey Stevens was the son of Ernest Arthur Stevens and Gladys Valerie Villiers Kelly of Kent.
Whilst stationed with No.10 OTU in Bodmin in Cornwall, AC2 Stevens was ground crew for Whitley Z6579. The aircraft was stationary with engines running when the starboard chock slipped allowing the aircraft to pivot slightly. AC2 Stevens was struck by one of the aircrafts propellors as he stood alongside the aircraft with the starting trolley.
